Michi Sanderson | Architect

Michi joined Bero in 2023 after working for several years in Chicago and Washington DC with a specific focus on classical and ecclesiastical architecture.

She particularly enjoys the challenge of developing solutions that accommodate complex programmatic requirements within a design language and material palette rooted in tradition.  From large-scale master plans to the intricacies of liturgical furnishings, Michi has had the opportunity to work at a variety of scales, making sure every detail is cohesive with the whole.  She believes people should live, work, and worship in beautiful buildings.

Michi received a Bachelor of Architecture with a concentration in Historic Preservation and Restoration from the University of Notre Dame in 2015 and obtained her architectural licensure in 2020. She is an accomplished hand renderer and watercolorist.

Michi lives in Irondequoit with her husband and three children.  She loves spending time with her children, walking around their neighborhood and encouraging them to draw, paint, and play with blocks.  She has illustrated a children's book written by a high school friend, and since then has been sketching ideas for other stories.  She also enjoys reading 19th and 20th century British novels and attempting to grow edible flowers in her backyard.
