Christopher Brandt | Project Architect
Chris started at Bero as a summer intern in 2010 and has been an employee since 2013. He has experience in multiple facets of historic preservation practice including design and construction administration, building evaluation, research, and advocacy.
Chris seeks to craft a unique identity for each project he designs that respects and amplifies the historic building fabric that surrounds it, from an 1873 chapel bathroom renovation to the reimagining of a historic 1929 art deco cinema.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University at Buffalo SUNY in 2011, a Master of Architecture and Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Virginia in 2013, and obtained his architectural licensure in 2018. He is the Education and Advocacy Coordinator for the Young Urban Preservationists; a member of the Board of Trustees and several committees of The Landmark Society of Western New York; and serves as the chair of the Town of Irondequoit Historic Preservation Commission.
Chris lives in Irondequoit with his wife and their two dogs. When not researching local history, he enjoys gardening, restoring his 1920s time-capsule house, and birding.
