A.D. White House

Cornell University - Ithaca, New York

The A.D. White House built in 1871 for Andrew Dickson White, the first president of Cornell University. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places and used, along with adjacent gardens, as a wedding and event venue and a place to hold lectures and classes. The project included creating an accessible path into the facility from the rear parking area and providing an all-gender accessible restroom. To minimize impact to the historic building, a sloped walk who developed to gently gain elevation to enter the building at first floor level. The restroom was designed to be compatible with adjacent interior finishes of the public spaces.
